The Sound Of Music (1965) Sunetul Muzicii
Bazat pe memoriile Mariei Trapp care au inspirat si musicalul omonim, filmul prezinta povestea unei tinere austriece care in anii ’30 paraseste manastirea in care fusese educata, in dorinta de a se face utila in lumea de afara. Ea este trimisa de calugarite sa indeplineasca rolul de guvernanta a celor sapte copii ai capitanului Georg Von Trapp care, vaduv fiind si mai mereu plecat, nu poate face fata singur educatiei copiilor sai. Ajunsa aici, Maria este intampinata cu ostilitate dar ea isi pastreaza buna dispozitie si amabilitatea fata de acestia, reusind in scurt timp sa ii cucereasca.
In lipsa d-lui Von Trapp copiii sunt initiati de guvernanta lor la cele mai nastrusnice aventuri, descoperind bucurii veritabile si incalcand regulile militaresti fixate de tatal lor. Acesta se intoarce impreuna cu logodnica sa, baroneasa Elsa Schraeder, si descopera cu uimire si nu reala placere influenta revolutionarei guvernante. In ciuda diferentei sociale dintre ei, Maria si capitanul se indragostesc insa tanara, nesigura de sentimentele sale, se intoarce la manastire dar nu pentru mult timp. Dupa plecarea Elsei la Viena, capitanul Von Trapp e liber sa se casatoreasca cu Maria. Pe fundalul ocupatiei naziste, Von Trapp este solicitat sa intre in armata dar refuza si intentioneaza sa fuga iar singura modalitate de a se substrage presiunii este prin intermediul Festivalului de muzica din Salzburg la care participa alaturi de intreaga familie,cucerind publicul. Description: In 1930′s Austria, a young woman named Maria is failing miserably in her attempts to become a nun.When the Navy captain Georg Von Trapp writes to the convent asking for a governess that can handle his seven mischevious children,Maria is given the job.The Captain’s wife is dead,and he is often away,and runs the household as strictly as he does the ships he sails on.The children are unhappy and resentful of the governesses that their father keeps hiring,and have managed to run each of them off one by one.When Maria arrives,she is initially met with the same hostility,but her kindness,understanding,and sense of fun soon draws them to her and brings some much-needed joy into all their lives–including the Captain’s.Eventually he and Maria find themselves falling in love,even though Georg is already engaged to a Baroness and Maria is still a postulant.The romance makes them both start questioning the decisions they have made.Their personal conflicts soon become overshadowed,however,by world events.Austria is about to come under the control of Germany,and the Captain may soon find himself drafted into the German navy and forced to fight against his own country.
