Michael Oher(Quinton Aaron) este un adolescent afro-american analfabet si supraponderal din Memphis, provenit dintr-o familie cu 13 copii in care tatal a fost ucis, iar mama este dependenta de droguri, care a fost plasat de 6 ori in familii adoptive si a fugit de fiecare data pentru a duce o existenta dificila si periculoasa pe strazi. Norocul baiatului se schimba atunci cand este adoptat de catre sotii Leigh Anne(Sandra Bullock) si Sean Touhy, care ii ofera un camin stabil si imbelsugat, multa iubire si compasiune si o educatie corespunzatoare, inscriindu-l la un colegiu la care obtine o bursa sportiva. Indrumat de catre noii lui parinti, Michael Oher dobandeste incredere in fortele proprii si este capabil sa isi valorifice potentialul, agilitatea, viteza, constiinciozitatea si puterea de care da dovada impunandu-l in atentia multor antrenori de fotbal de la colegiu. Summary: Based on the true story of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy(Tim McGraw) who take in a homeless teenage African-American, Michael “Big Mike” Oher. Michael has no idea who is father is and his mother is a crack head. Michael has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne soon takes charge however, as is her nature, ensuring that the young man has every opportunity to succeed. When he expresses an interest in football, she goes all out to help him, including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael’s skills. They not only provide him with a loving home, but hire a tutor to help him improve his grades to the point where he would qualify for an NCAA Division I athletic scholarship.
