In filmul National Security (Siguranta Nationala), o comedie amuzanta cu elemente de actiune, MARTIN LAWRENCE (Earl Montgomery) joaca rolul unui cadet increzut din L.A.P.D. care probabil ar fi un bun politist daca nu ar face pe grozavul. Atitudinea rebela a lui Earl face ca el sa fie dat afara din academia de politie, fiind nevoit sa se multumeasca cu o slujba umila, de agent de paza al unei firme numite Siguranta Nationala. Dupa un conflict cu un politist artagos, pe nume Hank Rafferty (STEVE ZAHN), Earl il acuza pe acesta de hartuire. Hank isi pierde slujba, este aruncat in inchisoare si in cele din urma ajunge sa lucreze si el pentru Siguranta Nationala.  Excesul de zel al lui Earl ii face sa dea peste o operatiune de contrabanda condusã de Nash (ERIC ROBERTS), de care nu ar fi straini chiar unii politisti.
Cu totii vor sa ii suprime pe Earl si Hank, daca nu au norocul ca cei doi sa se ucida unul pe altul intre timp.

Description: Earl and Hank have only one thing in common: they’re both L.A.P.D. rejects. One just got kicked out, the other can’t even get in. After confronting each other on opposite sides of the law during a traffic stop that escalates out of control, these two luckless individuals end up partnered as lowly security guards. Despite being damned to the lowest rung of the law enforcement ladder, Earl and Hank uncover a sophisticated smuggling operation led by Nash and his band of thugs. When Earl and Hank get their hands on some hot property, they go on the run from, first the bad guys, then the L.A.P.D.–led by Lt. Washington and Detective McDuff.
