Pe vremea cand era un avocat extrem de apreciat, Steven Luisi i-a aparat pe cativa dintre cei mai inraiti infractori din New York. Dupa moartea fiicei sale, avocatul a devenit dependent de droguri, iar cariera lui a pornit pe o panta descendenta. In prezent Steven Luisi este abstinent si intentioneaza sa isi reia activitatea de avocat, acceptand un complicat caz de crima, care il determina sa se confrunte cu proprii demoni si sa caute izbavire pentru pacatele ce ii apasa constiinta. Incercand sa solutioneze cazul, Steven Luisi se imprieteneste cu Richard Allen, un fost atlet devenit membru al unei bande stradale, care stie multe secrete despre sadicul proxenet si criminal Al Bowen. Intrucat Al Bowen este fostul dealer de stupefiante al avocatului si are o inclinatie deosebita spre a arunca pe fereastra bebelusii prostituatelor care lucreaza pentru el, Steven Luisi vrea sa il aduca cu orice pret in fata instantei de judecata. Steven and Allen go head to head with the murderous Bowen (Busta Rhymes), a vicious Gang leader and Steven’s old drug dealer. With Allen’s help, Steven discovers that there are deep connections between Bowen, himself, and a corrupt police department.
