Emmeline si Richard sunt cei 2 copii care, impreuna cu bucatarul de pe vas, supravietuiesc in urma unui naufragiu si reusesc cu greu sa ajunga pe o insula tropicala. Dupa putin timp bucatarul moare, iar cei doi realizeaza ca de acum incolo vor trebui sa se descurce singuri pe acea insula pustie.
