Tropic thunder” este o comedie spumoasa si plina de actiune despre un grup de cinci actori, care sunt pusi in situatia dramatica de a interpreta rolurile personajelor lor in viata reala. Tugg Speedman este ales sa faca parte din echipa selecta de actori care urmeaza sa fie implicati in proiectul a ceea ce trebuia sa devina filmul despre razboiul din Vietnam cu cel mai mare buget din istoria cinematografiei, el fiind insotit in aceasta aventura de Kirk Lazarus – de trei ori laureat al premiului Oscar, de Jeff Portnoy – vedeta serialului de comedie “The Fatties”, de Alpa Chino – un cantaret de hip-hop multiplu castigator al Discului de Platina, care s-a reprofilat in actor si de Kevin Sandusky – un tanar debutant. Atunci cand regizorul si scenaristul se plictisesc de mofturile si aerele de vedeta ale protagonistilor, iar studioul decide sa stopeze filmarile din pricina costurilor de productie exagerate, cei cinci actori sunt abandonati in jungla din sud-estul Asiei si fortati sa lupte in mod serios pentru supravietuire, ca niste adevarati razboinici, impotriva unor aborigeni deloc prietenosi.
Description: A film crew is in Southeast Asia filming a Vietnam-war memoir. It’s early in the shooting, but they’re already behind schedule and over budget. On the day an accident befalls the novice director, the cast and crew are attacked by a gang of poppy-growing local drug dealers, except the cast and crew don’t realize these aren’t actors who are stalking them. The thugs kidnap Tugg Speedman, an actor whose star seems on the decline, and it’s up to the rest of the ragtag team to band together long enough to attempt his rescue. But will Tugg want to leave?
