The Patriot – Patriotul
Actiunea filmului de duce in anul 1776 in South Carolina. Fermierul Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) s-a nascut si a crescut in Carolina de Sud. El a luptat vitejeste in razboaiele dintre indieni si francezi, insa de la moartea sotiei lui a renuntat la violenta si s-a retras in liniste la ferma sa alaturi de cei sapte copii. In 1776, cu toata opozitia lui Benjamin, fiul sau cel mare, Gabriel, se alatura celor care lupta impotriva englezilor. Gabriel se intoarce de pe campul de lupta ranit si urmarit de englezi. O altercatie are loc la ferma lui Benjamin si unul dintre copiii sai este omorat de colonelul Tavington. Benjamin lasa la o parte convingerile sale pacifiste si se alatura celorlalti luptatori pentru libertate.
Description: The movie takes place in South Carolina in 1776 Benjamin Martin is a South Carolina planter who is still haunted by his notoriously brutal past as a soldier in the French and Indian War. When the American Revolution comes, he chooses not to fight for the Continental Army because he wants to protect his family. But when the British Colonel Tavington threatens their welfare and kills one of his sons, he chooses to enlist. Martin becomes the leader of a makeshift militia, which consists of peasants, slaves, a minister, and assorted other irregulars. During the war Martin and his men discover that they will pay a steep personal price for their rebellion. But thanks to their courage and bravery, they are also destined to pay a pivotal role in turning the tide against the Redcoats.
