Scarface, un remake după filmul aparut în 1932, urmăreşte aceeaşi poveste a unui emigrant cubanez, Tony Montana (Al Pacino), care, împreună cu prietenul lui, Manny Ray, pune bazele unui puternic imperiu mafiot în Miami. Timp de aproape 3 ore, filmul, de o duritate rar întâlnită în 1983, a născut numeroase controverse în momentul lansării. Regizat de Brian de Palma şi scris de Oliver Stone, Scarface a intrat în istorie şi prin faptul că este unul din puţinele filme nominalizate atât la Globurile de Aur (Cel mai bun actor într-un rol principal, Cel mai bun actor într-un rol secundar, Cea mai bună muzică), cât şi la Zmeura de Aur (Cel mai prost regizor). Description: When Fidel Castro opens the harbor at Mariel, Cuba, he sends 125,000 Cuban refugees to reunite with their relatives in the United States.
