Unii dintre noi asteapta toata viata pentru a-si descoperi sufletele-pereche, dar nu si Holly (Hilary Swank) si Gerry (Gerard Butler). Apropiati inca din copilarie, ei isi terminau propozitiile unul altuia si pastrau un zambet pe buze chiar si atunci cand se certau. Nimeni nu si-l putea imagina pe unul dintre ei in lipsa celuilalt. Dar intr-o zi inimaginabilul se produce, iar moartea lui Gerry o devasteaza pe Holly. Impreuna cu prietenii si familia sa galagioasa si iubitoare, Holly reuseste sa treaca peste momentul tragic din viata ei.
