“Notorious” este un film despre viata si moartea unui rapper pe nume Christopher Wallace, alias The Notorious B.I.G. Filmul se centreaza in jurul povestii rapperului BIG inca din copilaria sa, crescand pe strazile din Brooklyn. Notorious prezinta ascensiunea lui Wallace din ghetourile din Brooklyn, devenind unul din cei mai influentabili artisti hip-hop al tuturor timpurilor. In afara de faptul ca era un cantaret de muzica rap foarte cunoscut, Wallace era si un mare povestitor. Povestile lui despre viata violenta de pe strazile din New York, au fost prezentate intr-o maniera intunecata, fara perdea, cu o doza mare de realism obiectiv, care i-a aduce mult respect si credibilitate. Viata lui Notorious BIG este portretizata si prin conflictul cu rivalul sau TuPac Shakur, atunci cand se naste un conflict intre muzica hip-hop de pe Coasta de Est si Coasta de Vest.
