ICE AGE 2 THE MELTDOWN 2006

Aventura plina de peripetii a celor patru prieteni din Epoca de Gheata – Manny, Sid, Diego si Scrat – continua in peisajul devenit mai putin ostil datorita dezghetului. Toate animalele se bucura de revenirea la o viata normala. Astfel, Manny se gandeste ca ar fi timpul sa-si intemeieze o familie, numai ca nimeni n-a mai vazut un alt mamut de foarte multa vreme. Manny ajunge sa creada ca este ultimul mamut in viata, pana cand o intalneste pe Ellie, unica femela mamut de pe pamant. Singura problema este ca cei doi nu se pot suferi unul pe celalalt.  Manny, Sid si Diego descopera ca incalzirea climei si dezghetul care a urmat ridica o problema serioasa: apele dezlantuite ameninta sa inunde intreaga vale.  Singura lor cale de salvare este de a ajunge la celalalt capat al vaii. Prin urmare, cei trei prieteni pornesc in aventura, impreuna cu Ellie, Crash si Eddie, doi noi amici, niste creaturi guralive si puse in permanenta pe sotii. In paralel, filmul prezinta peripetiile lui Scrat, care aici are un rol mai important decat in cel precedent.

Description: Manny the woolly mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber-toothed tiger, and the hapless prehistoric squirrel/rat known as Scrat are still together and enjoying the perks of their now melting world. Manny may be ready to start a family, but nobody has seen another mammoth for a long time; Manny thinks he may be the last one. That is, until he miraculously finds Ellie, the only female mammoth left in the world. Their only problems: They can’t stand each other–and Ellie somehow thinks she’s a possum! Ellie comes with some excess baggage in the form of her two possum “brothers”– Crash and Eddie, a couple of daredevil pranksters and cocky, loud-mouthed troublemakers. Manny, Sid and Diego quickly learn that the warming climate has one major drawback: A huge glacial dam holding off oceans of water is about to break, threatening the entire valley. The only chance of survival lies at the other end of the valley. So our three heroes, along with Ellie, Crash and Eddie, form the most unlikely family–in any “Age”– as they embark on a mission across an ever-changing, increasingly dangerous landscape towards their salvation. Ice Age: The Meltdown, also known as Ice Age 2: The Meltdown or simply as Ice Age 2,
is the 2006 film sequel to the computer-animated 2002 film Ice Age. It was produced by Blue Sky Studios for 20th Century Fox, and premiered in Belgium and the Philippines on March 29, 2006. It was eventually released in 70 countries.It was directed by Carlos Saldanha, co-director of the original Ice Age,
and the music is done by Robots composer, John Powell. In the opening scene, Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel climbs a glacier but accidentally opens a hole in it. The world of ice is slowly melting. The creatures of the Ice Age are all shown enjoying themselves on slides and pools  made by the melting ice; among them the three protagonists of the first film: Manfred, Sid, and Diego. Sid opens a day camp, where none of the younger creatures take him seriously, nor do Manfred and Diego, which leaves Sid seeking a daring deed. Fast Tony , a local con artist is claiming that the earth will flood and that the bark and reeds which he sells are needed to stay alive. Manfred dismisses the idea, but is distracted when he sees that Sid will try to high dive from a giant waterfall; as Manfred goes with Diego to the top of the waterfall to save Sid from his act of daredevilry, they see that the pleasant weather caused the ice of the valley to melt,
and it is kept from destroying the valley only by the glaciers, which have formed a dam.
As the animals begin their journey, Sid sings three songs to tease Manny about Mammoths being ‘extinct.
