Bazat pe o replica din bestseller-ul de imensa popularitate “Sex and the City”, “He’s Just Not That Into You” spune povestea unui grup de prietene din Baltimore, de varste intre douazeci si treizeci si ceva de ani, care trec prin relatii amoroase, de la intalniri fara sanse si pana la apele adanci si mlastinoase ale casniciei, incercand sa desluseasca semnalele pe care le lanseaza sexul opus … in speranta ca vor fi singurele exceptii la regula “fara exceptii”. Avand la baza cartea best-seller intitulata “He’s just not that into you: The no-excuses truth to understanding guys” a autorilor Liz Tuccillo si Greg Behrendt, filmul de fata este o comedie romantica ce evidentiaza prapastia tot mai larga dintre cele doua sexe si neintelegerile care apar adeseori in viata de cuplu, lansand provocari de a incerca sa interpretezi corect diverse comportamente umane. Cativa tineri din Baltimore trec prin perioade grele incercand sa gaseasca dragostea adevarata. Janine intentioneaza sa divorteze de sotul ei Ben, care o neglijeaza deoarece are o relatie amoroasa cu o alta femeie, care la randul ei este curtata intens de catre Connor. Daca atentia lui nu ar fi concentrata in directia gresita, Connor ar putea gasi fericirea in bratele tinerei Gigi, care a dezvoltat o autentica obsesie pentru el si pune la cale asa-zise intalniri accidentale cu el doar pentru a da peste bunul prieten al acestuia – Alex. Mary este o tanara draguta pe care numeroasele intalniri la care merge au aruncat-o intr-o stare de confuzie totala intr-o cultura preocupata mai degraba de tehnologie decat de contactele umane, iar Beth si Neil formeaza un cuplu a carui relatie intarzie sa se concretizeze intr-o casatorie spre disperarea femeii.
Summary: The plot chronicles the romantic misadventures of nine individuals in their twenties and thirties. Set in Baltimore, the common thread of the story is that one person in each relationship is more enamored with the other person than vice versa. Years later, Gigi is now struggling to find true love while shifting through men who are simply not interested. After her latest date, Conor, has failed to call her, Gigi visits a bar he said he frequented in order to see him. There, she is approached by Alex, a friend of Conor’s who works at the bar. Gigi claims she is waiting for Connor, since she needs to return a dentist’s pen to him. However, Alex quickly sees through her lie, claiming Connor’s dentist is his father (not the name written on the pen). Gigi admits that Connor is not expecting her, and explains her confusion over his lack of response. Alex tells her that Connor isn’t interested, and then takes it upon himself to explain the “signs” to Gigi.
