Gran Torino
Gran Torino este povestea lui Walt Kowalski. Ajuns la varsta batranetii, Walt este un vaduv foarte dificil, foarte greu de acceptat ca persoana, incapatanat, cu multa ura in suflet, un batran foarte nefericit care nu se mai intelege de nici o culoare nici cu copiii lui dar nici cu vecinii. Walt este un veteran al Razboiului din Korea, a carui singura mandrie este un Gran Torino din 1973, masina de care are grija ca de ochii din cap. Mai presus de toate este si rasist. Nu-i convine deloc ca niste asiatici s-au mutat langa el. Dar soarta are alte planuri pentru Walt care intr-o noapte salveaza familia de langa casa lui in urma unui atac al unor gangsteri. In semn de multumire, acestia il invita in casa lor sa ii arate ce fel de oameni sunt. Dar planurile gangsterilor sunt de a se razbuna pe batranul Walt, care se dovedeste a fi o pacoste pentru acestia. Incetul cu incetul, Walt incepe sa se apropie de acasta familie pe care este decis sa o protejeze.
Description: Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) has just lost his wife and his children want him to move out of the old neighborhood and move into a senior citizens’ home. Walt doesn’t want to move even though more Asian people live in his Detroit neighborhood than Americans. Walt has a problem with Asians ever since he fought them in the Korean War. This prejudice explodes when Thao, the teenage son of the Hmong family next door, tries to steal his mint condition 1972 Grand Torino car. Thao (played by Bee Vang) was pressured by an Asian gang to steal the car as an initiation rite. To regain the family’s honor, Thao is forced to work for Walt. Walt begins to protect Thao from the gangs and soon he becomes a target. Douglas Young (the-movie-guy)
