Everybody Wants to Be Italian 2007
“Everybody wants to be Italian” este o comedie spumoasa al carei personaj principal, Jake Bianski, este un negustor de peste parasit de iubita, care nu s-a vindecat inca de aceasta dragoste nefericita, incercand de mai mult de 8 ani sa o recucereasca pe femeia vietii lui, desi acum ea este casatorita cu un alt barbat si este mama a trei copii. Deoarece Jake este depresiv, incapabil sa mearga mai departe si sa-si uite trecutul, cei doi prieteni ai sai – Steve Bottino si Gianluca Tempesti – decid sa il scoata din starea psihica deplorabila in care s-a scufundat de atata amar de vreme si ii aranjeaza o intalnire cu o frumoasa italianca pe nume Marisa Costa din cartierul North End al Bostonului. Irezistibil atras de catre aceasta femeie deosebita si fiind convins ca ea nu ar accepta niciodata sa aiba o relatie amoroasa cu un partener care sa nu fie de aceeasi nationalitate cu ea, Jake recurge la un truc pentru a o cuceri si pretinde ca este italian, studiind asiduu limba si obiceiurile poporului italian pentru a fi mai credibil.
Description: Are all relationships based on lies? Jake Bianski runs a fish market in north Boston, surrounded by Italians. For years, he’s carried a torch for Isabella, an ex-girlfriend now married with three children and no interest in Jake. Yet, he tells everyone she’s his girlfriend, including Marisa, a veterinarian his employees set him up with at the Italian singles club. She’s interested in him until he tells her about his girlfriend, then he’s persistent in asking her to be his friend. As the friendship bumps along, Jake realizes that reality may be better than fantasy, but what if Isabella changes her mind about Jake, and what if it comes out that Marisa, like Jake, isn’t Italian?
